History
The Spring Festival dates back over 4,000 years to the Shang Dynasty. Originally a time to honor ancestors and deities, it later became associated with celebrating the lunar new year. The legend of the monster Nian, who was scared away by red decorations and firecrackers, adds a mythical dimension to the festival.

Contribution
The festival reinforces family bonds and cultural identity. It also serves as an economic driver, with increased spending on food, decorations, and travel.
